The more robust our heart is, the more robust muscle tissue is the body. One of the first signs of a weakening or atrophying heart muscle is a sort of flabbiness or loss of tone and strength of muscle elsewhere in the body.
Just as exercise strengthens muscle, so it strengthens the heart.
‘Hunter’s Brain’ is what my Granddad called the 5 points at which the heart and with it life energy is stimulated to heal and strengthen the heart and with it all the muscles of the body.
Throughout history humans have used the nuances of voice to understand one another. We understand instinctively what we really mean by the little jumps and stops and changes in tone and pitch and volume of our voices.
My interest in the topic started back in school days when the school choir was competing in a big competition and we were all very careful to keep our voices in order through the months of practice for the big day. I noticed all the things affecting our voices, and very little was about catching a cold.
I write this article from personal experience. When I was 13, I developed shortsightedness or myopia almost overnight. I had terrible headaches reading, and after many weeks of suffering, was finally prescribed glasses that made me able to read without a headache again.
At first I found wearing glasses pretty cool. For once in my life I looked like a ‘good’ girl by convent school standards. Spectacles meant you were the studying type. My glasses were photo-sensitive which meant they turned dark when I was out in the sun. That made me very cool riding on my bicycle (or so I thought, till an old teacher told me only criminals and film stars wore dark glasses and I better come back to reality).
